Oooh. That was a big one.

December 23, 2006 at 7:02 am (fredlet, oh my!, quakes)

It started off like someone was walking heavily upstairs, but since no one is up above where I am in the kitchen, it confused me a bit. The following jolt wasn’t too bad, but it made it clear that it was a quake.
I think this was a follow up to the one in Berkeley (that I didn’t feel) this last week.
Here’s the linky, maybe they will have ascertained how big it was.
Felt 4-ish. [note: they say 3.7, but it felt a bit bigger]
More a jolt than the normal roll.

People still ask me if I am afraid of earthquakes… no. I’m still deathly afraid of tornadoes. (and I saw that recently Oklahoma had a jolt in addition to the constant twisters they have and you have a marvelous scary place to live… sorry Choctaw cousins, I won’t be coming out there.)

This is the first one I’ve felt in a long time. I think the last clear one I felt (and even then it was more like a tiny little dizzy spell on my part that I had to double check that it was a quake) was in the other house before I moved over here to Oakland.
