I like this…

[via Kramer]

“The Reactor Solar Backpack is the first in a line of backpacks with an integrated solar charging solution. Stylish and smart, this backpack combines the traits of a feature rich quality bag with a smart, effective solar charging module. The backpack has multiple pockets for your cell phone, PDA, hand held GPS unit, CD player or MP3 player, and a laptop computer. The MP3 pouch includes an inner mesh pocket and a convenient outlet for your headphones. External side mesh pockets can be used for a water bottle holder or other items for quick access. Included with the pack are large cavities for books or extra clothing when traveling. The back cavity houses a laptop sleeve that can be removed when extra space and lighter weight is needed. The front zippered accessory pouch includes pen holders, cd holders, an elastic lanyard for keys, and a removable clip for USB memory sticks.
The integrated solar charging module can be utilized by using a common 12V automotive charging adapter made specifically for the brand and type of personal electronics you own. Using a cell phone as an example, you can trickle charge the cell phone battery during casual commutes or long hikes with the backpack using your existing cigerette lighter cord (not included). The result is an extension of battery life, and a source for charging when traveling in remote areas where traditional chargng sources are not available, or in emergency situations.
The result is the ultimate backpack for your mobile needs.
This solar panel is not designed to charge a laptop computer.”

(but I bet my tiny little laptop would charge…)

But I still the Solio portable charger would be better for me as soon as the come out with a Treo tip…

here’s an idea for a (geeky) scary movie scene

August 29, 2005 at 10:55 pm (fredlet)

Project manager is on site for a release… however, everyone else is at home doing their release duties through a VPN.
The office is dark, the area is industrial, the cleaning staff has long gone home.

Suddenly, printer near her cube spins up… this is different than the normal energy saver mode… then it spits out a single piece of paper.

(the camera view is looking in through the window) She walks over to the printer and picks up the page…
(the shot changes to an over the shoulder shot to read the page…)

The page says: YOU ARE DEAD.
(arial black 40 point (that’s my inner type geek coming out.))

…cue scary music and a bunch of dumbasses in the movie theater that scream “Run!”

heh.

I grow weary of late night releases.

TERRIFIC news!

August 29, 2005 at 7:43 pm (fredlet)

Mikey came back from his echo cardiogram today (after a frustrating and not very good last few months…) and the news was very good…
The walls in his heart are strengthening and he has been upgraded from “Moderate Congestive Heart Failure” to “Mild Congestive Heart Failure”.
Looks like the last bout of badness was due to over medication and they can ease off some of his drugs… which is a win-win situation.

=;) I don’t think that this smiley emoticon adequately expresses the big grin on my face,

I am continually reminded that I am a dork.

August 29, 2005 at 4:51 pm (fredlet)

Sometimes it amuses me and sometimes it hurts my feelings.

Today, I think it hurt my feelings a little…

When do you grow out of this? or is it a merely horrible consequence
of being a Leo with a Gemini moon?

sigh.

Buffy Personaility Test

August 28, 2005 at 5:08 pm (fredlet)

Glorificus
72% amorality, 63% passion, 81% spirituality, 45% selflessness
You probably have a complicated, multi-faceted personality. Kind of like Glory-Ben-Glorificus.

Passionate and driven with a spiritual side that comes out at times, a healthy taste for the finer things in life and a willingness to do what’s necessary to achieve your ends. You’re assertive and have no problems standing up for yourself.
And, push come to shove, you’re the closest anyone’s ever come to straight-up beating the Slayer and her gang.

THE 4-VARIABLE BUFFY PERSONALITY TEST

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
free online dating free online dating
